This film is a 1925 American war drama directed by King Vidor, starring John Gilbert and Renée Adorée about an idle rich boy who joins the US Army’s Rainbow Division and is sent to France to fight in World War I. He becomes friends with two working-class soldiers and falls in love with a Frenchwoman, but has to leave her to move to the front line, where he experiences the horrors of trench warfare.
