But I'm a Cheerleader

SHOWTIMES

Thu 6/20: 7:30p

Circle Cinema is proud to partner with Twisted Arts for "Drag Me to the Movies," a new monthly retro screening series! Kicking it off a special screening of the cult classic “But I’m a Cheerleader” on June 20. But wait, there’s more! Before the main event, our talented local performers hilariously parody the film. Featuring the fabulous lineup of Adonia Hunter, Laura Cook, Londenn Davenport Raine, Missy MG, and Tracy La Louisianne. Tickets $10 Circle members, $12 non-members.

Expect the unexpected and remember “Foreplay is for sissies!” or “I get good grades! I go to church! I’m a cheerleader!” Megan (Natasha Lyonne) considers herself a typical American girl. She excels in school and cheerleading, and she has a handsome football-playing boyfriend, even though she isn't that crazy about him. So she's stunned when her parents decide she's gay and send her to True Directions, a boot camp meant to alter her sexual orientation. While there, Megan meets a rebellious and unashamed teen lesbian, Graham (Clea DuVall). Though Megan still feels confused, she starts to have feelings for Graham.

Learn more about the performers at Twistedfest.org/dragmovies.
