"Get Out" originally released in 2017 and immediately set Jordan Peele as a filmmaking force in Hollywood. The film received widespread critical acclaim en route to winning the Best Original Screenplay Oscar, and was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor (Daniel Kaluuya). In the film, a young African-American visits his White girlfriend's parents for the weekend, where his simmering uneasiness about their reception of him eventually reaches a boiling point.

"Us" was Peele's hotly anticipated follow-up in 2019, and cemented his status as a top writer/director in the horror genre. Starring Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, a family's serene beach vacation turns to chaos when their doppelgängers appear and begin to terrorize them.
