A yearly tradition, Circle Cinema paid tribute to the 76th anniversary of D-Day, the beginning of the Allies’ retaking of Europe, with a FREE program on our YouTube Page. The screening includes the Oscar-nominated documentary “D-Day Remembered” and interviews with Oklahoma veterans who were present at D-Day. The program also features bonus material of House Organist and Army veteran Phil Judkins playing military anthems on Circle’s restored 1928 theatre organ, a display of flags from each branch of the military courtesy of the Albert E. Schwab Detachment 857 of the Marine Corps League, with the assistance of Marine veteran Weydan Flax of VFW Post 577, and an authentic authentic WWII D-Day Normandy display from Keith Myers’ Traveling Military Museum.
This project was supported in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives support
from the State of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts.
