Film Selection Policy: Inclusivity and Accuracy
At Circle Cinema, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all our patrons. As a nonprofit cinema, our mission is to provide a platform for diverse voices, promote cultural understanding, and offer high-quality, thought-provoking films that enrich the community.

To uphold these values, all films selected for screening at Circle Cinema will be carefully evaluated with the following principles in mind. All films selected for public screening at Circle Cinema or private rentals publicized through Circle’s marketing program will be subject to this policy:

1. Respectful Representation: Films will be selected for their commitment to portraying ethnic groups, cultures, and identities in a respectful and authentic manner. We strive to avoid stereotypical, harmful, or one-dimensional depictions or propaganda that may perpetuate negative biases or discriminatory narratives.

2. Cultural Sensitivity: We recognize the importance of cultural sensitivity in the media. Our film selection process will prioritize works that demonstrate thoughtful engagement with the histories, lived experiences, and contributions of ethnic groups, aiming to offer a balanced and accurate representation.

3. Diversity of Perspectives: Films will be chosen to reflect a broad range of experiences, acknowledging the complexity and diversity within ethnic groups. We aim to highlight stories that contribute positively to cultural dialogue and foster mutual understanding.

4. Consultation and Research: Where applicable, the film selection team will consult experts, cultural representatives, and communities to ensure that films are aligned with these principles and do not perpetuate inaccuracies or misrepresentations.

By adhering to this policy, Circle Cinema will continue to create a welcoming space for all individuals, promoting an atmosphere of inclusion and respect for every community we serve.
