Only at Circle Cinema can you experience a sci-fi classic like never before as Tulsa composer Dustin Edward Howard presents a special live music and video performance themed on “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” Dustin’s ethereal score and soundscapes will pair with audio and visuals to reimagine the tale of an alien arriving on Earth with a message for mankind. Tickets $15 members, $20 non-members.

Dustin's work as a composer includes original film soundtracks, documentaries, music for video games and podcasts. As a composer, Dustin combines his skills as a versatile multi-instrumentalist with his passion for sound engineering, sound design, and music production. He is influenced by everything from vintage video game scores and 70's horror synth soundtracks to Prog and Alternative Rock and ambient noise. He is equally as comfortable creating analog scores in real time as he is composing digital scores. He has also written, recorded with and produced a number of alternative bands over the last 15 years, currently with GROUCHO. He has worked on music for Sesame Street Shorts, several short films, live scores and videogames. He has composed scores for several episodes of Osiyo: Voices of the Cherokee People and was a recipient of a Heartland Emmy Award in 2022 and 2023 for his work on the series. Dustin is finishing up two film scores this winter, while also opening Noise Town Tulsa, a rehearsal, recording and event room on Route 66.
