Tulsa Filmmakers Group invites you to a special sneak peek screening of the new “Somewhere in America” series with Brian Schodorf (filmmaker & 7x Emmy-winner) in attendance for a Q&A moderated by Malachi Gross. The screening will feature the made-in-Tulsa second episode titled “Presidents, Protests, and a Race Massacre.” Tickets on sale now at regular price.
In the episode, President Trump travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma to hold his first campaign rally of 2020. Tensions escalate quickly in this midwestern oil boom town with its own hidden history of racial violence and a deep wound that has yet to heal. In a city still divided along racial lines nearly 100 years after the brutal Tulsa Race Massacre – this visit from President Trump drives the divide even further.
The event begins with a filmmaker networking opportunity at 4pm. Film at 4:30pm, followed by Q&A at 5:30pm.
“Somewhere in America” is a raw and sobering five-part documentary series that explores the political, moral, and cultural fault lines that divide modern-day America.
