About the workshop: Hosted at Whitty Books, located around the corner from Circle at 2306 E. Admiral Boulevard. F.M. Scott, the host, is from Tulsa, and his stories have appeared in “Apple in the Dark,” “Skink Beat Review,” “The Horror Tree,” “The Killer Collection Anthology” (Nick Botic Horror), “Sirius Science Fiction,” and more. The workshop will begin with introductions and a discussion about the horror boom and which areas of the genre interest them. There will be a contemporary reading list handout featuring writers Gabino Iglesias, Tananarive Due, Paul Tremblay, Hailey Piper, Suzan Palumbo, etc. ... and of course, Stephen King. After everyone has arrived, writing prompts will be given with an emphasis on short stories and flash fiction. Workshop attendees will have time to begin working on their stories, and read them aloud to the group if they would like at the end of the workshop. Plus, there will be info on submitting stories to Horns & Rattles press run out of Whitty Books.
