Notice: The film runs 3h17min and will include an intermission.

The Second Saturday Silent Series pairs a classic silent film with a live score played by Bill Rowland on Circle’s restored 1928 theater pipe organ. Tickets just $5 adults, $2 kids, with support from the American Theatre Organ Society Sooner State Chapter and Arts Alliance Tulsa.

This month, see a special presentation of the 1916 epic historical drama “Intolerance.” The film runs 3h17min with an intermission. It is widely regarded as one of the best films from the silent era, and continues to make modern “Best Movies of All Time” lists. Intolerance and its terrible effects are examined in four historical eras: In ancient Babylon, a mountain girl is caught up in the religious rivalry that leads to the city's downfall. In Judea, the hypocritical Pharisees condemn Jesus Christ. In 1572 Paris, unaware of the impending St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, two young Huguenots prepare for marriage. Finally, in modern America, social reformers destroy the lives of a young woman and her beloved.
