She returned to study in Angers, France and lived with a French family in immersion.  She has visited France several times over the last twenty years, continuing to explore Paris's wonders when possible, and finding new ones throughout the country.  Layton enjoys exploring wonder, curiosity, beauty, history, identity and transformation in her work.  She is working on additional books featuring photography from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Greece and the United States. About the film: 2hr - Antholody, Drama, Romance - Rated R for language and brief drug use - French and English

Originally released in 2006, "Paris, Je T'Aime" is a love letter to the City of Light and was nominated for the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes. 20 renowned filmmakers were given five minutes each for a short film; the audience must weave a single narrative out of 20 moments. The 20 moments are fused by transitional interstitial sequences and also via the introduction and epilogue. Each transition begins with the last shot of the previous film and ends with the first shot of the following film, extending the enchantment and the emotion of the previous segment, preparing the audience for a surprise, and providing a cohesive atmosphere. A reappearing mysterious character is a witness to the Parisian life. A common theme of Paris and love fuses all.
