Founded in 2020, Twisted Arts was created to highlight local, national, and international 2SLGBTQ+ artists through year-round programs, which include an annual fall film festival, special film screenings & performances, a youth music Summer camp, sneak peeks,  special events, and screenings with directors, actors, and other queer media icons. This year the 5th Annual Twisted Arts Film Fest is back at the Circle!

Friday, September 12

6:30PM Odd Fish

In this gentle and welcoming dramedy—the first Icelandic film to feature a trans female lead—two childhood besties who co-run a seafood restaurant in the northern Westfjords have their friendship tested when one of them comes out.

8:30PM: DMTTM: PeeWee’s Big Adventure

In this special edition of Drag Me to the Movies, the beloved 1985 classic Pee-wee’s Big Adventure gets a fabulous, irreverent twist. Local drag performers kick off the night with a live parody that reimagines Pee-wee’s wild cross-country bike quest through the lens of camp and queer comedy. Expect big wigs, bigger laughs, and a celebration of all things weird and wonderful. Following the live show, the original film plays in all its glory—complete with ghost stories, bar fights, and that unforgettable “Tequila” dance.

Saturday, September 13

11:30AM: The Real Housewives in Tulsa

In an attempt to mend her broken heart, recently divorced Krissie (James Franco) meets up with her besties Sha’lice (Kalup Linzy), Nicole (Peter Gold), Alyssa (Branjae Jackson) and the latter’s husband Cody (Jasper Hammer) in Tulsa only to be confronted with judgment, secrets, and revelations that rock their reunion to its core.

1PM: Between Goodbyes

Includes short film `Poreless` before the feature.

Between Goodbyes is a tender and deeply personal documentary that explores the complexities of identity, belonging, and reconciliation through the story of Mieke, a queer Korean adoptee raised in the Netherlands, and her birth mother, Okgyun, who was forced to give her up under South Korea’s strict one-child policy, cultural stigma, and economic hardship.

3:30PM: Assembly

Includes short film `Two Black Boys in Paradise` before the feature.

Assembly follows visionary artist Rashaad Newsome as he transforms a historic military facility into a Black queer utopia, blending art, AI, and performance. Through stunning visuals and deeply personal performances, Assembly captures the transformative power of creativity as a fractured community comes together to find strength, solidarity, and liberation.
