Okie Film Nights presented by Experience Tulsa! This new monthly series celebrates Oklahoma’s rich film history past and present and this month we're screening "August: Osage County." All tickets just $5, and the screening includes a special video intro by Chris Freihofer of Freihofer Casting. Chris will discuss the work his company did casting extras and backgrounds on the film, and talk about the casting process in general for films made in Oklahoma.
The death and funeral of their father brings three sisters to the home of their mother, Violet (Meryl Streep), an acid-tongued, pill-popping cancer patient. Daughters Barbara (Julia Roberts), Karen (Juliette Lewis) and Ivy (Julianne Nicholson) -- along with their significant others and various other kin -- take the full brunt of their dysfunctional matriarch's venom, for Violet tells every one of them exactly what she thinks of them. The film is based on the Pullitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play written by Tulsa's own Tracy Letts.
