Join us at Circle Cinema on Saturday, June 11 at 11AM for the 100th anniversary of the historical documentary NANOOK OF THE NORTH from 1922.
Although the film contains stereotypical depictions of Indigenous peoples and some fictional elements, it paved the way for modern documentaries and is presented in historical context. The film vividly shows how its resourceful subjects survive in such a harsh climate, revealing how they construct their homes and find food by hunting and fishing.
The 2nd Sat Silent Series features a classic silent film with a live score by Bill Rowland of the American Theater Organ Society on Circle's restored 1928 original theatre pipe organ.
Come early for walk-in music played by Circle Organist Rudy Geissler. One day only, tickets $5 adults, $2 kids.
