About the film: 1h10min - Documentary - Not Rated - English
"Barroom Heroes" documents the journey of an indigenous Chickasaw filmmaker from Oklahoma, Logan Walcher, as he joins the world of pro wrestling and lucha libre over the course of six years. The film takes the viewer inside Elote, a restaurant in Tulsa that hosts some of the most entertaining comedy wrestling in the country within its hilariously small 10-foot ring.
As the director is embraced by a ragtag group of pro wrestlers from all over the state, he discovers their passions for the sport and the unique stories that accompany each one to the ring. The film culminates with the biggest night of indie wrestling in Oklahoma, Cinco de Mayo, as the wrestlers put on an unforgettable show for thousands of raving fans.
Through the director's eyes, "Barroom Heroes" offers an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the chaotic and unpredictable world of pro wrestling and the enthusiastic wrestlers who bring it to life.
