"Redbird" dir. Emma Barrow, 13min: A Cherokee woman fights to protect her niece from an unlawful adoption by her white grandparents as she reckons with feeling distant from her own culture.
"LIFE Origins: An Animated Tale" dir. Dathan Smith, 3min: This is the animated origin story of the hit series L.I.F.E. Anthologies. This animated tale unveils the identity of the true found of the company that hand delivers cards notifying citizens of the day they die.
"L.I.F.E.: Renaissance" dir. Dathan Smith, 18min: L.I.F.E. is an anthology series set in the near future where citizens receive a hand delivered card stating their date of death. Each episode explores the recipients remaining months. In this 2 part episode, LIFE Corp is under fire as their technology's reputation is questioned. We learn the origin of the LIFE Card, and just how far the company will go to remain a leader in advanced innovative technologies.
"Mansfield Park" dir. Kristian Pierce, 5min: Based on the novel by Jane Austen, Mansfield Park tells the story of Fanny Price and her unrequited love for Edmund Bertram, and takes us on the journey of their relationship. This story takes place in the 1800’s at the Northamptonshire house and estate of the same name.
"~FOOLS GOLD~" dir. T.J. Morehouse, 10min: Would be thieves are foiled by a Cherokee curse.
"The Magic Ticket" dir. Yelena V. Krivosheyeva, 15min: A homeless female veteran, Penny, is camping outside of a fancy restaurant on Christmas eve when a kind stranger donates her a gift card to go inside and get a hot meal. After struggling to get a seat, she is finally able to order dinner when an angry patron calls the police. When the cops try to escort Penny out, it triggers her trauma.
