Circle Cinema is proud to welcome actor Julius Tennon back to Tulsa for a special one-night screening of Riverbend (1989) along with actress Vanessa Tate-Goodrich and Reelblack's Michael J. Dennis in attendance for a Q&A! Tickets $13 members, $15 non-members.
Reelblack recently completed restoration work on the classic film Riverbend and have been touring the country for screenings, and now come back to the city Julius Tennon once called home! Julius graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1978 and now enjoys a successful career in Hollywood and the arts. Julius plays Sgt. Tony Marx in the film, and will be joined at the screening by Vanessa Tate-Goodrich, who plays Pauline, and Reelblack founder Michael J. Dennis.

Georgia, 1966. Three Black soldiers fleeing a rigged military court-martial arrive in the small Southern town of Riverbend, where a brutal racist sheriff has terrorized the Black community for years. Led by Major Samuel Quinton, the soldiers help the townspeople organize, train and stand together against the forces controlling their town.
Newly restored in 6K from the original 35mm interpositive and full-coat magnetic sound elements. Restoration supervised by director Sam Firstenberg, with film scanning and picture restoration by Austin Squitieri of Reel Revival. Audio transfers were completed by Simon Daniel Sound and the Drexel University Audio Archives, with Blu-ray authoring by Justin McConnell / Unstable Ground. Produced and restored by Reelblack Renaissance, with thanks to Missing Movies for their assistance in securing the original negative.
